Macklemore Releases New Song “Maniac”

The release of Macklemore’s most recent single, “Maniac,” is part of his ongoing return.

“Maniac,” the follow-up track to the Seattle artist’s previously released hit “Chant,” was produced by frequent collaborator Ryan Lewis and Budo. The song, which features up-and-coming musician Windser on the hook, is released along with a music video that draws inspiration from Outkast’s classic clip for their 2003 hit single “Hey Ya!”

“The first time I heard Windser singing the hook on ‘Maniac’ I fell in love with it,” Macklemore said about the song. “It’s infectious and relatable and I couldn’t get it out of my head. ‘Maniac’ is about the euphoria of a relationship that isn’t perfect, but an addictive journey of the ups and downs that make you both who you are.”

Macklemore and Imagine Dragons are presently touring North America when “Maniac” is released. After making stops in Boston, Toronto, Atlanta, and Las Vegas, the 19-date tour will conclude on September 15 at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The trip began on August 5 at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
