Lionel Messi scores stunning bicycle kick as PSG beat Clermont Foot in Ligue 1 opener

In Paris Saint-Ligue Germain’s 1 opener against Clermont Foot on Saturday night, Lionel Messi scored an amazing bicycle kick.

After a poor 2021/22 season, Messi would have hoped to get off to a fast start.

And at the Gabriel Montpied Stadium, PSG thrashed Clermont Foot 5-0 as he accomplished exactly that.

In the ninth minute, Messi put up Neymar for his first goal. The Parisians led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Marquinhos and Achraf Hakimi.

In the second half, the Argentine scored twice as PSG maintained their lead.

In the 80th minute, Neymar selflessly put up Messi for a tap-in goal.

Six minutes later, Messi added his second goal to complete the scoring, and what a goal it was.

Messi was spotted by Leonardo Parades thanks to an excellent pass over the top.

With his back to the goal and the ball in his chest, Messi made the bold decision to try an overhead kick.

The Argentine’s shot looped over the defenseless Mory Diaw and went in. It was a very magical moment, which you can watch below.
