LeBron James wants his dream of owning an NBA team in Las Vegas to come true.
In a forthcoming episode of HBO’s “The Shop,” the Los Angeles Lakers player discussed his goals for the next phase of his career after his playing days are over.
“Yeah, I wanna buy a team, for sure. … I want a team in Vegas,” James said.
There are presently no specific expansion plans in place for the NBA. Commissioner Adam Silver recently shot down rumors that the 30-team league was examining Las Vegas and Seattle as potential expansion cities as early as 2024.
Last season, James, who recently became the NBA’s first active player with a $1 billion projected net worth, talked about his desire to buy an NBA team.
