LeBron James Reveals That He’s Going Back to Jersey No. 6

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has revealed that he’s swapping No. 23 for No. 6 on his jersey from the 2021-22 season.

Revealing the news to fans on social media, the move comes after speculation that James would hand over No. 23 to his teammate Anthony Davis. This was his original intention when moving to the Lakers from the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018. Although according to ESPN via Hypebeast, Davis will still be wearing No. 3.

James first wore the single digit as a Team USA player and wore it for four seasons during his time at the Miami Heat as they had retired the jersey in honour of Michael Jordan.

Since leaving the Heat back in 2014, James was wearing No.6 in his practice uniform with the Cavaliers and currently with the Lakers. It also coincides with James as the main star of Space Jam: A New Legacy, where he is seen wearing the same number for the Tune Squad.
