Lana Del Rey Says She Lost Unreleased Music & Book After Her Devices Were Stolen

A laptop, three video cameras, and many hard drives were stolen from Lana Del Rey’s car when it was parked in Los Angeles, the singer stated on Instagram.

Del Rey revealed that the burglary from “a few months ago” on Melrose Place led to the leak of several unfinished songs as well as private images. The files on her laptop, which included a lengthy manuscript, had to be deleted as well.

“I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon & Schuster, which I didn’t have backed up on a cloud. … And despite that, people are still able, this week, to remotely access my phone and leak our songs and personal photos,” she said.

Lana expressed worry over the recordings found in the stolen items, noting that they contain family members from the previous two years.

LDR implored her fans to avoid listening to any of the leaked tracks. “And, in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it,” she said. “And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that.”
