According to The Athletic, Kyrie Irving will team up with Luka Doncic after the Brooklyn Nets traded the All-Star point guard to the Dallas Mavericks.

On Sunday afternoon, NBA insider Shams Charania announced that Kyrie would be moving to Dallas in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Doran Finney-Smith, a first-round selection, and a number of second-round picks.

Days after demanding to be dealt by the deadline next week, Kyrie made the move. Irving had intended to leave as a free agency this summer, had the Nets kept him.

Kyrie’s rocky time in Brooklyn has come to an end with his trade to Dallas. Until NYC mayor Eric Adams changed the city’s legislation, Kyrie was unable to play in Nets home games during the 2020–21 season due to his unwillingness to receive the COVID–19 vaccine.

After posting a link to the 2018 documentary Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America on social media earlier this season, Kyrie drew criticism. The movie focuses on antisemitic tropes.
