Kevin Durant reaches an agreement with the Brooklyn Nets to stay with the team

According to sports reporter Shams Charania, Kevin Durant spoke with Steve Nash, Joe Tsai, and Sean Marks in Los Angeles and decided to stay with the Brooklyn Nets.

The arrangement ends a summer of unrest in Brooklyn that started when Durant asked to be traded in June. However, despite rumored interest from groups like the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors, it seemed like no one was willing to give the Nets the kind of return they were ultimately seeking.

Early in August, Durant reportedly requested Tsai to pick between him and the team of Marks and Nash in a last-ditch attempt to get moved. According to reports, Durant expressed his lack of confidence in the team’s direction to the Nets ownership. The Nets must be regarded as one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference now that he is back, along with Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.

Therefore, Durant is staying put, putting an end to a saga that many will likely have deemed meaningless after over two months of rumors and reports.
