Kendrick Lamar Releases New Album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

“Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,” Kendrick Lamar’s fifth solo album, was released on Thursday night — his first full-length in five years. Summer Walker, Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Sampha, Baby Keem, Beth Gibbons of Portishead, and Taylour Paige all make cameos on the 18-track album, which contains a truly emotive performance from Taylour Paige on the haunting “We Cry Together.” Sounwave, Duval Timothy, Boi-1DA, Lamar as OKLAMA, and Pharrell Williams are the main producers on “Mr. Morale.” “Auntie Diaries,” an uncommonly clear-eyed view on transphobia, is another noteworthy in the lyrically and musically dense and complex album.

The album is missing “The Heart Part 5,” a new song he released on Sunday with a stunning deep fake video.
