Kendrick Lamar announces new album, out May 13

Fans of Kendrick Lamar will be pleased to learn that his fifth studio album will be out in less than a month! The rapper announced the news on his Oklama website on Monday (April 18).

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is the title of the album, which is set to be released on May 13th. The site, which link Lamar provided on Twitter, will be the only place where fans can get information about the album.

Kendrick Lamar’s next album will be released only days after the fifth anniversary of his 2017 album DAMN, and eight months after he announced that it would be his final project with Top Dawg Entertainment, a company with whom he’s been privileged to work for the past several years.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” he announced via his Oklama site back in August. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”

“There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown,” the “Money Trees” rapper continued. “Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”

The new album from Kendrick Lamar will be released in time for his headlining shows later this year. The Compton native, who performed at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in February, has been announced as the headlining act for the Glastonbury Festival in England, which runs from June 22 to June 26. In July, he will headline Rolling Loud Miami 2022 with Kanye West and Future, as well as perform at the Milano Summer Festival in Milan, Italy.
