Rapper Kanye West’s account has been restricted by Instagram after he published a post that some people are labeling “anti-Jewish.”
A representative for Meta claims that Instagram restricted access to Ye’s account and removed content from his Instagram page after the company claimed that the rapper had broken its policies.
The decision was made after Ye wrote a now-deleted post on Friday that one group is labeling anti-Semitic. Meta did not clarify what content was explicitly removed from the account and what content broke their standards.
In the post, Ye shared a screenshot of a text exchange he said he had with Sean “Diddy” Combs, with the caption “Jesus is Jew.”
According to the message from Ye, Combs was under the direction of Jews, which is an allusion to a well-known anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.
The article was published after Ye participated in a Tucker Carlson interview on Fox News on Thursday and repeated anti-Semitic conspiracies. Ye charged Jewish businessman Jared Kushner with negotiating agreements on behalf of Israel in the interview.
