Kanye West Said Kim Kardashian’s ‘Career Is Over’ After She Styled Herself

Kim Kardashian claimed Kanye West told her her “career was over” when she wore a different dress for a special event than the one he picked for her.

According to Page Six, the founder of Skims opened up about a phone call she had from her ex criticizing her style on the most recent episode of The Kardashians. Kourtney Kardashian acknowledged to her sister that after years of Ye’s influence on her style, she is nervous about deciding what to wear on her own.

“I got to a point where I would ask his advice for everything down to what I wear,” she said. “Even now I’m having panic attacks, like what do I wear?”

It all came to a head when she decided to wear something other than what Ye had chosen for her October performance on Saturday Night Live. Kardashian also mentioned in a previous episode that her ex-husband unexpectedly departed during her big night’s opening statement.

Kardashian confessed that she was “so nervous” about altering change her style when Kourtney inquired whether she was worried about it before informing her sister about the call she got shortly after.

“Oh and then he called me afterwards,” she revealed. “He told me my career is over and then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”

The Simpsons comparison, according to the publication, was due to the dark brown leather outfit she wore to the Wall Street Journal 2021 Innovator Awards. The sleeveless dress featured matching long gloves and nearly caused a wardrobe malfunction when she stepped up to claim her prize.

Despite the backlash, Kardashian is still attempting to find her own style, telling Entertainment Tonight that she’s “never really been the visionary.”

“I’m trying to figure out: Who am I in the fashion world? Who am I by myself?” she pondered. “I was always the Kardashians with my sisters, and then I was Kimye, like who is Kim K? That is the jump. How do I get there without Kanye? When I filed for divorce, it’s been 10 months now, and I’m finally just like stepping out, being like, ‘I can do this.'”
