In response to his recent antisemitic remarks, Kanye West has retained legal counsel.
TMZ claims Camille Vasquez, one of the lawyers who supported Johnny Depp in his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, has been hired by Ye. Kanye will receive legal advice from Vasquez and her Los Angeles-based law company Brown Rudnick on a variety of business matters.”
Ye caused controversy this month by posting insulting and destructive remarks on social media and during interviews. One such tweet stated that Ye intended to “go death con 3 on Jewish people,” which was most likely a reference to DEFCON 3.
“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” he wrote. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
After then, Twitter deleted his tweet for breaking its rules. Ye’s most recent Drink Champs episode was removed quickly after it aired this week because it was antisemitic and inaccurate regarding George Floyd’s passing. Similar considerations led to the cancellation of a pre-recorded appearance on LeBron James’ The Shop.
In response to news that the Kering-owned fashion house had severed ties with Ye on Friday, Balenciaga declared it has no “plans for future projects” with West. However, the publication did not specify why.
