Kanye West Joins Playboi Carti For Surprise Performance At Rolling Loud NY

Playboi Carti shocked the crowd by performing “Off The Grid,” a Donda collaboration, with Kanye West during his set at Rolling Loud New York on Friday.

Two months ago, Kanye made an unexpected cameo at Rolling Loud Miami, where he and Lil Durk gave a rendition of the song “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” from The Life of Pablo.

Nicki Minaj, a rapper from Queens, took over Citi Field on Friday by inviting four guests to perform a medley of classics. Before BIA took the stage to perform his 2020 smash “Whole Lotta Money,” featuring Minaj, Nicki and Fivio Foreign sang their duet “We Go Up.” The remix to Nicki’s “The Way Life Goes” from Luv Is Rage 2 was then performed by Lil Uzi Vert, and G Herbo took the stage to perform “Chi-Raq.”

On Thursday, the NYPD requested that several drill rappers be taken off the Rolling Loud lineup. Sha Ek and Ron Suno from the Bronx and 22Gz from Brooklyn are among the performers. The latter rapper was one of five performers that were removed from Rolling Loud New York in 2019 due to concerns regarding possible violence from the authorities. Just a few days prior to the festival’s start, the NYPD wrote to the organizers to urge that 22Gz, Pop Smoke, Casanova, Sheff G, and Don Q be taken off the lineup.
