Kanye West and Drake Officially Announce “Free Larry Hoover” Concert

Kanye West has confirmed that he will perform a one-night benefit concert titled “Free Larry Hoover” on December 9 at the L.A. Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.

Drake will perform at the event, and West has recently spoken about him in both appreciative and disparaging tones. The event is expected to “put to rest” a long-running dispute between the two rappers.

West uploaded the event’s poster on Instagram with the phrase “God’s plan.” The historic performance will “raise awareness and support for Larry Hoover and the cause of prison and sentencing reform,” according to the L.A. Coliseum’s event page. Hoover, a co-founder of Gangster Disciples, was convicted of murder, extortion, and money laundering in 1997, and is presently serving six life terms. West has been fighting to liberate Hoover for some years, having petitioned Donald Trump for mercy in 2018.

“I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause but prove to people everywhere how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride aside and come together,” Ye said in a statement.
