Justin Timberlake is looking to reinvigorate the sound that made him a household name in the music and entertainment industry three years after the release of his most recent album, Man of the Woods.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last Saturday, Timberlake stated that a new album is under construction.
“We can say that,” JT said when questioned about the potential release of more music (see 6-minute mark of clip). “Let’s go with yes. I’ve been in and out of the studio working on stuff.”
This latest announcement from JT comes following a recent video posted on the 40-year-old’s Instagram account, back in the studio with long-time collaborator, Timbaland.
Timberlake also wants to partner with artists in creating pop-fusion smashes even despite his close work with Timbaland. When Fallon questioned JT about the artists he would like to work with soon, he gave an interesting response. “Kendrick (Lamar) is on the top of my list, Kendrick and also Travis Scott.” Timbaland has also hinted at Timberlake entering the Verzuz ring with JT being paired with Usher as Drake contacted the popular producer in making the dream matchup a reality.
