This past weekend, Jonathan Majors was taken into custody on suspicion of assaulting a woman.
The 33-year-old actor was detained Saturday morning in NYC, according to TMZ, when a woman who has not been named reported to police that Majors had physically assaulted her during a domestic dispute. The accuser, according to insiders who spoke to the publication, had apparent wounds all over her body, redness and marks on her face, as well as a cut behind one ear. According to reports, she was taken to the hospital and is now stated to be in stable condition.
According to law enforcement officials, officers arrived at the scene around 11 a.m. and quickly took Majors into custody without more incident. The Creed III actor was finally accused of assault, harassment, and strangulation, but his defense team vigorously refuted the claims.
“He’s done nothing wrong,” Majors’ representative told TMZ. “We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Although it wasn’t immediately evident what exactly Majors had in common with the woman, sources eventually revealed that she was his girlfriend. According to the lady, the actor and she got into a fight after leaving a Brooklyn bar. The girlfriend allegedly caught Majors messaging a another lady as they were walking home and instantly confronted him.
Sources reported Majors then put his arms around his girlfriend’s neck after grabbing her by the hand and slapping her. The woman reported the attack the next morning after the two supposedly spent the night apart.
