John Cena Sets Guinness World Record For Make-A-Wish Foundation for Wishes Granted

According to CNN, the former professional wrestler who is now an action star has granted 650 wishes through the Make-a-Wish Foundation, breaking the organization’s longstanding record. Immediately upon his signing with the World Wrestling Federation in 2002, Cena reportedly started working with the foundation. A supporter called Cardon received the 45-year-old’s wish from the foundation about ten years later.

Cena received recognition in 2015 for completing 500 requests through the organization.

“There is no more humbling experience than a child who could ask for anything in the world asking to meet me,” Cena said at the time. “I have faced some of the toughest superstars in WWE [World Wrestling Entertainment] history and I’ve never encountered more bravery or toughness than I see in each wish kid that I meet.”

Cena is the only celebrity to have granted more than 200 wishes, making him the most sought-after celebrity in the Make-a-Wish program, according to Guinness World Records.

In order to grant “life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses,” Make-a-Wish was established in 1980. The majority of requests involve arranging meetings with sportsmen and celebrities or organizing special events. Along with these celebrities, the foundation has received support from Dwayne Johnson, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Snoop Dogg.
