According to a recent report, Ja Morant is being sued over the alleged punching of a 17-year-old.

The 2022 NBA All-Star starter was named in a lawsuit that was filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, in September of last year, according to a TMZ report on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the alleged punching is reported to have happened at Morant’s house back in July. The fact that the case has been sealed, despite the fact that the specifics of its main accusations were made public this week, was mentioned early on in the report and is worth mentioning.

In short, the unnamed 17-year-old claims that he and Morant got into a fight on July 26 while playing pick-up basketball, which is how the incident allegedly started. This person claims that as the debate heated up, he threw the ball in Morant’s direction and “accidentally” hit the Memphis Grizzlies star. Morant is said to have replied to this by first approaching the man, then punching him, knocking him to the ground, and then hitting him a further number of times, according to the allegations.

According to TMZ, which referenced court and police records in its report published on Tuesday, Morant allegedly informed responding authorities that he had struck the person in self-defense. Additionally, according to reports, Morant informed police that the 17-year-old threatened him just after the event.
