J. Cole to join Rwanda Team in Basketball Africa League

American rapper J. Cole is set to play for Rwanda Patriots BBC in the first season of the Basketball Africa League.

According to ESPN’s The Undefeated, J. Cole arrived in Rwanda two days ago and is currently isolating in order to compete in the 12-team league.

Cole has had previous experience of playing basketball during his youth at Sanford (North Carolina) High School and was a walk-on player at St. John’s as a college student. This was before the 36-year-old ditched basketball for music, but he is now ready to return to the court.

Rwanda Patriots BBC will confirm the signing of J. Cole on Thursday, a source has told ESPN. The club’s first BAL match comes on Sunday against the Nigeria River Hoopers.

This news also coincides with the release of J. Cole’s new single titled “Interlude” ahead of his upcoming album.
