Hulu Drops ‘Look At Me: XXXTentacion’ Documentary Trailer

The first trailer for Look at Me: XXXTentacion, a documentary on the controversial rapper’s journey to fame, has been released by Hulu.

The trailer, directed by Sabaah Folayan, touches on the Florida rapper’s meteoric rise on SoundCloud as well as claims that he attacked his then-pregnant fiancée. The film was commissioned by the Fader in 2017 and has been in production for a long time, but it finally premiered at SXSW Film Festival 2022 this year.

The documentary will feature never-before-seen archive material of XXXTentacion, who was shot and killed in June 2018 at the age of 20, and will be one of the most comprehensive views at him to date. Expect interviews and analysis from X’s friends and family, as well as some of his ex-girlfriends. The project, which will premiere on Hulu on May 26, is named after one of his most famous songs, “Look at Me!”

Despite his enormous success, XXXTentacion has remained one of hip-most hop’s divisive individuals. He was charged with false detention, witness tampering, domestic abuse by strangling, and aggravated battery of a pregnant lady at the time of his death. He had disputed the accusations and had entered a not guilty plea to all counts. He made two posthumous cameos on Kanye West’s Donda 2 album recently. Lil Wayne with many posthumous collabs, Trippie Redd, and Kendrick Lamar in a polarizing tweet released in 2017 are among the artists who have shown support for X.
