‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Live-Action Movie in the Works

How to Train Your Dragon from Universal/DreamWorks Animation will return to screens as a live-action feature adaptation, with the franchise’s three-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Dean DeBlois returning to write, direct, and produce the most recent installment.

 

Based on the Cressida Cowell book series, How to Train Your Dragon is a motion picture.

The movie will debut in theaters on March 14, 2025. There are currently no other major releases scheduled for that day.

 

A foolish young Viking named Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) in the first How to Train Your Dragon seeks to hunt dragons and becomes the unexpected acquaintance of a juvenile dragon named Toothless, learning that there may be more to the beasts than he initially thought. Through three films, the animated franchise has made over $1.6 billion.

Four Academy Award nominations for the series have been received, and the second film received a Golden Globe nomination.
