Harry Styles’ “As It Was” Is Longest-Running Solo No. 1 On Hot 100

Harry Styles has achieved a record-breaking run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to the continued success of “As It Was,” which was first released in April.

According to Billboard, the lead single from Harry’s House spent 15 weeks at the top as of Monday. Due to this, the song holds the record for the longest chart-topping stint by a British artist as well as the longest No. 1 run without any other artists (i.e. a solo-billed song).

Only three other songs have spent more weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 list than Styles’ “As It Was” up to this point. Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” remix featuring Billy Ray Cyrus tops them all with 19 weeks at the top, while Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” featuring Justin Bieber and Mariah Carey both finished their respective streaks with 16 weeks at the top.

Styles is currently taking in the view from the top of the theatre. With just under $20 million, Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, which stars the consistently terrific Florence Pugh and debuted at No. 1 this weekend.
