Under its new name, Meta, Mark Zuckerberg recently delivered a Facebook Connect presentation that addressed a variety of prospective virtual reality initiatives.
Mark Zuckerberg said near the end of the presentation that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which he called “one of the greatest games ever developed,” is now in development and would be released in the metaverse via the Oculus Quest 2 device.
San Andreas VR will most likely be based on the remastered edition of the game, which was recently announced as part of a larger bundle that also included Vice City and GTA III. While unofficial GTA VR mods have existed for years, the next official release will undoubtedly provide a completely different experience. “This has been a long time in the making, and we can’t wait to show you more,” Oculus wrote on its blog.
The next VR game has yet to be given a release date.
