The Golden Globes returned to the broadcast arena on Tuesday with host Jerrod Carmichael after protracted Hollywood Foreign Press Association disputes, which noticeably led to a subdued reveal of winners for the 2022 event.

The Banshees of Inisherin, which featured flawless performances by Kerry Condon, Colin Farrell, and Brendan Gleeson from the In Bruges film, led the 2023 class of candidates going into the event on Tuesday with eight nods, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Babylon, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Glass Onion, and Triangle of Sadness are some of the other contenders in the category. On the drama side, Tár is up for an award alongside Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, Top Gun: Maverick, and the intensely private Steven Spielberg entry The Fabelmans, which features yet another flawless performance from recent Cate Blanchett.

Better Call Saul, Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Wednesday, and other shows are up for awards. Quinta Brunson as Janine on Abbott Elementary and Donald Glover as Earn on Atlanta are two examples of notable performances.
