Gareth Bale confirms MLS move to Los Angeles FC

Gareth Bale, the captain of Wales, has decided to sign a free transfer to Los Angeles FC of the MLS.

Bale, a forward, departed Real Madrid after nine years in Spain and is now a free agent.

The five-time Champions League champion has been linked to a transfer to Cardiff as well as a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

LAFC have yet to officially confirm the deal, but Bale tweeted on Saturday saying: “See you soon, Los Angeles”.

The signing of Bale, who joined Real Madrid for a then world-record fee of £85m in 2013, is set to follow LAFC’s move for Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini earlier this month.

Supposedly, if Wales didn’t make it to the 2022 World Cup, Bale would call it quits in the sport.

However, once Robert Page’s team had assured themselves of a spot in Qatar by defeating Ukraine in the World Cup play-off final earlier this month, Bale’s destiny was clear—the only remaining issue was which club he would sign with.
