Epic Games’ two-week Fortnite fundraiser is officially over, with both Epic and Microsoft donating $144 million for humanitarian help in Ukraine.
Epic Games will donate the proceeds from real-money Fortnite sales to five humanitarian assistance organizations: Direct Relief, UNICEF, UN World Food Program, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and World Central Kitchen. These five organizations have been “on the ground providing emergency aid, such as health support, food and clean water, essential supplies, legal aid, and shelter,” according to Epic.
Epic’s fundraiser began on March 20th, the same day that Fortnite’s Chapter 3 Season 2 kicked off. Epic raised $36 million in under 24 hours. For the same two-week period, Microsoft joined Epic in donating its net Fortnite proceeds from Microsoft Store sales.
Our deepest thanks to everyone who joined us in supporting humanitarian relief efforts for people affected by the war in Ukraine.
