Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos joins Paris Saint-Germain

Sergio Ramos has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal having left Real Madrid as a free agent at the end of last season.

As reported by Sky Sports, the Spaniard left Real after his contract expired in June, ending an incredible 16-year spell which consisted of four Champions League honours, five La Liga titles and four Club World Cup crowns.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos stated as quoted by Sky Sports. “This is a big change in my life, a new challenge and it’s a day I will never forget.

“I am very proud to be a part of this ambitious project, to be a part of this squad with so many great players. Paris Saint-Germain is a club that has already proven itself at the highest level. I want to continue to grow and improve at Paris and help the team to win as many trophies as possible.”

Netherlands captain Georginio Wijnaldum has also joined the French giants in a three-year deal having left Liverpool at the end of his contract. Gianluigi Donnarumma is also expected to join PSG on a free transfer after failing to agree extension terms with AC Milan.

Achraf Hakimi has also been signed by the club from Inter Milan in a deal which could reportedly rise up to £60m, according to Sky Sports.
