Following the tragedy of ‘Rust,’ Dwayne Johnson has pledged to stop using real guns in his films

After a tragic shooting incident involving actor Alec Baldwin on a film set in New Mexico last month, Hollywood action star Dwayne Johnson, or The Rock, has committed to no longer using actual guns in his films.

Johnson, who was in Los Angeles for the global premiere of his new Netflix blockbuster Red Notice with co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, declared on Wednesday that his company’s films will “not use real guns again.”

“I was heartbroken,” Johnson said, speaking to Variety at the premiere. “We lost a life. My heart goes out to her family and everybody on set. I’ve known Alec, too, for a very long time.”

Halyna Hutchins, a cinematographer, was killed on the set of Rust on October 21 when a gun Baldwin was carrying discharged a live bullet, according to authorities.
