Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz signs new contract until 2024

Carlos Sainz has signed a two-year contract with Ferrari, which would keep him racing until at least 2024.

The Spaniard and his Italian teammates have been working toward this goal for some time, with reports in the off-season claiming that a deal was just a matter of time.

Indeed, both appear to like working together, and with Ferrari beginning off F1’s new era as the top team, it’s understandable that Sainz would prefer to stay put.

Indeed, on signing the deal, Sainz had this to say:

β€œPutting on this race suit and representing this team is a great honour for me and I really look forward to keep enjoying our journey together.”

Of course, the Spaniard is currently lagging behind Charles Leclerc in the other Ferrari in the title battle, but there is still a long way to go this season, and Sainz will believe he can fight his way back to the top of the standings.

He certainly has the car to do so, and he confesses that he believes there is still a lot more from him this season in the car.
