Fans spot ‘House of the Dragon’ CGI mistake in Episode 3

Viewers spotted a visual effects mistake involving King Viserys Targaryen, played by English actor Paddy Considine, during Sunday’s episode of the Game of Thrones prequel. The mistake, which was noticed in season 1 episode 3, “Second of His Name,” depicts the king handing a soldier a scroll while he has two green fingers. The fact that the digit covers functioned as miniature green screens during the editing process was evident.

When Viserys cuts his left pinky on the Iron Throne in the first episode of the series, a mysterious, flesh-eating disease spreads to many of his fingers. The king tries a creepy-crawly remedy—putting his hand in a bucket of maggots and letting the larva eat the dead tissue—but it doesn’t work, and the maesters tell Visery they’ll have to amputate his fingers.

“Not the green screen glove on Viserys’s missing fingers 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️#hotd.” one fan tweeted about the CGI gaffe.
