The artist Kanye West is having financial difficulties, so some of his fans have turned to GoFundMe in an effort to support him.

Several campaigns were started, according to AllHipHop, with one in particular summarizing their overall objective: “Make Kanye West a Billionaire Again.” GoFundMe took down this particular fundraiser after it only raised $5, but a few others have not yet been taken down. Ye’s net worth decreased to roughly $500 million after Adidas severed connections with him, according to a Forbes article published last week, and he was “no longer a billionaire.”

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” the company said in a statement. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.”

Ye came under fire for his anti-Semitic statements, use of hate speech, and assertion that George Floyd’s death, which had already been ruled a homicide, was caused in part by fentanyl. Those in Kanye West’s inner circle are “fully aware” of his “obsession” with Adolf Hitler, according to a CNN article from last week, which cited four individuals who claimed he almost called his 2018 album Hitler.

Since then, a number of businesses, including Balenciaga, Foot Locker, and CAA, have cut ties with Ye. West stated last week that he “lost two billion dollars in one day” on Instagram. Additionally, he minimized the financial blow by adding, “The money is not who I am. Who I am is the people.
