England and Italy will do battle at Wembley on Sunday night with the honour of becoming the champions of Europe at stake for both nations in the Euro 2020 final.
Both sides have breezed through the group stages, outmuscled their respective opponents in the group stages, and have made it to the penultimate stage of the competition.
There are various ways you can observe the match. For England, there is home advantage and the fact that they haven’t hard to travel as much compared to their opponents. Their only match overseas was against Ukraine, coincidentally in Rome, in a dominating 4-0 win in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Italy’s form going into the encounter has been imperious to say the least. They are unbeaten in their last 33 matches in all competitions, scoring 86 goals and conceding just 10 during this remarkable run.
All things considered, there really isn’t much between the two teams, who are itching to put their silverware droughts to an end. England haven’t won a major tournament at international level since the World Cup in 1966 in comparison with Italy’s World Cup victory in 2006.
