Erling Haaland scores stunning acrobatic winner against Borussia Dortmund

The Premier League winners were forced to put in a strong performance when Borussia Dortmund visited the Etihad Stadium, despite frequently strolling past opponents at this stage of the competition.

That’s because after Jude Bellingham’s glancing header gave the Citizens the lead in the second half, they found themselves down 1-0 with 10 minutes remaining.

And it’s fair to say that it was exactly what they deserved given that the visitors had been unlucky not to break the score earlier in the game thanks to Marco Reus.

But since we’re talking about a Pep Guardiola team, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they grit their teeth and never gave up despite the time running out.

And despite the fact that a lot of their team play was deliberate and slow, it was individual flashes of brilliance that allowed them to win in Manchester.

First, a magnificent goal by England center-back John Stones equalized the score. Stones picked up the ball outside the penalty area and fired a shot with such force that it nearly tore the net off.

The drama didn’t finish there, though, as Erling Haaland added another goal to complete the comeback, continuing his incredibly remarkable start to life in England.

And it was perhaps the best goal he’s scored while wearing sky blue, as he displayed incredible agility and acrobatics to divert Joao Cancelo’s exquisite cross into the goal.
