Elon Musk’s child has filed legal procedures to alter her name, claiming that she no longer wishes to be linked to the billionaire “in any way.”
According to TMZ, Mr. Musk’s transgender daughter, Xavier Alexander Musk, turned 18 in April and wants to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson.
Mr Musk’s ex-wife Justine, Vivian’s mother, had the surname Wilson. They were married from 2000 to 2008.
Part of the modification is to adhere to her gender identification, but not totally. A portion of the court paperwork, which were filed with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, requires her to provide a “reason for name change.”
“Gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” she explains.
Vivian’s request will be heard at a hearing planned for Friday.
Vivian and her father have never spoken about their connection in public. Mr Musk has previously stated that he “absolutely” supports transgender people, but that “all of these pronouns are an aesthetic nightmare.”
After he uploaded a joke ridiculing people for using their pronouns in their social media sites, he was accused of being transphobic.
