Elon Musk is providing extra incentives to sign up for Twitter Blue.
On Friday, the platform would begin to distribute eligible users’ share of ad revenue, according to the tech billionaire. Musk promised that subscribers to Twitter Blue Verified would share in the profits from the ads that appeared in their reply threads, but he gave no further details on the program’s functioning.
Currently, Twitter has a few ways to make money, such as its Super Follows and Tips features.
“Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their reply threads,” he wrote. “To be eligible, the account must be a subscriber to Twitter Blue Verified.”
Subscribers could be able to recover their subscription costs through popular tweets, depending on how the ad income program is set up. Yet again, Musk and Twitter have not yet provided any specifics, such as the percentage of money that Twitter would share and the payment structure for creators.
