With the latest DJ Khaled collaboration “Staying Alive,” which debuted at No. 5 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, Drake has surpassed The Beatles’ long-standing record of 29 top five hits, which stood for 55 years, by having 30 top five singles to his credit.
The OVO head now has 100 top 20 appearances on the Hot 100, more than any other artist in the chart’s 64-year history, according to Billboard.
Like only Drake can, Drake praised the success.
“Ok I broke my records for the month now me and @stake need you to do your thing Bitcoin,” he wrote alongside a laughing face emoji. The caption was accompanied by a video of Drake winning $5.13 million in a virtual roulette game, followed by a Bitcoin tracker showing $24,000 earned.
Drizzy followed that up by posting a picture of him out at a lavish dinner complete with an empty plate decorated with the words, “Just another celebration,” followed by a shrugging emoji.
Drake has smashed Billboard records several times before, including this one. With Certified Lover Boy and its first song “Way 2 Sexy,” he made history in 2021 by becoming the first artist to make a simultaneous debut on both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100. Then, in June, he created history when “Jimmy Cooks,” a song featuring 21 Savage, and his danceable Honestly, Nevermind record both reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
DJ Khaled’s 13th album rollout began last Friday with the release of “Staying Alive,” a song including Lil Baby as well.
