Netherlands and Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has suffered an injury meaning that he will miss this summer’s European Championships.

It’s unknown as to what type of injury the former Ajax star has picked up as head coach, Frank de Boer, won’t be calling up a replacement for the tournament. The Netherlands kick-off their campaign at the Amsterdam Arena on Sunday night where they’ll face Ukraine.

Van de Beek signed for United from Ajax last summer in an initial €40.6m deal. Despite making four stars in the Premier League in his first season in England, the 24-year-old has been a regular figure in the Dutch squad, with a total of 19 international appearances and 3 goals. Hopefully, the talented midfielder will be back on the pitch soon.
