Former US President Donald Trump believes that Bitcoin is affecting the US dollar and is a ‘scam’ when being interviewed by Fox Business.
Trump is quoted by the BBC saying, “Bitcoin, it just seems like a scam, I don’t like it because it’s another currency competing against the dollar.”
Trump is also eager in the dollar becoming “the currency of the world”. The 74-year-old spoke on the subject as El Salvador revealed ambitions to make the cryptocurrency legal tender.
Bitcoin has been suffering with dips from as early as May and is yet to recover from its significant drop in value. After China banned banks and payment establishments of trading through cryptocurrency transactions. A week prior to that news, Tesla announced it wouldn’t be accepting Bitcoin payments due to climate concerns.
