Designer Donny the Dybbuk Accuses adidas of Stealing Designs

On Instagram, Donny the Dybbuk pointed out a recent Adidas Nizza release that has striking similarities to one of his own. The alleged copycat sneaker’s main complaint from the designer is the Three Stripes branding’s drip effect over the midsole.

In the Instagram caption, Donny the Dybbuk stated that Adidas had employed him in recent years to design a unique Adidas Campus colorway. The Three Stripes emblem on the custom has the same drip detail. A bespoke colorway of the Forum Low, was created by the designer and the brand together in the past for a special giveaway.

“@adidas hired me a couple years ago to make and post a custom pair for them. Now they just dropped the top shoe in stores with no mention of the kid,” Donny the Dybbuk wrote for the caption. “Bottom two are my creations. My designs from 2018 are still being applied to the biggest billion dollar companies in the world. ANOTHER PROOF OF CONCEPT. They really tryin hard to catch up lol.”

For a suggested retail price of $60, the Adidas Nizza with the drip detail is currently offered at Adidas.com in children’s sizes.
