Days before the album’s release, Ed Sheeran tests positive for COVID-19

After testing positive for Covid-19, Ed Sheeran states he’s self-isolating.

In an Instagram post, the chart-topping artist stated that he will continue to provide scheduled interviews and concerts from his home.

Sheeran, who lives near Framlingham in Suffolk, said: “Apologies to anyone I’ve let down, be safe everyone x.”

He performed in London last week as part of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s inaugural Earthshot Prize awards.

In his post, Sheeran said: “Hey guys, quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.

“It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in-person commitments for, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house.”

On Friday, his new album, named =, will be released.
