David Beckham agrees to a £150 million contract to act as Qatar’s ambassador

According to reports, David Beckham has agreed to become an ambassador for Qatar for £150 million.

The former England captain, 46, will be the face of the Qatar World Cup for the next ten years.

Mr. Beckham traveled to Doha this month for a week of meetings with officials, according to the Sun on Sunday.

He was reassured that spectators will be permitted to display rainbow flags in stadiums during next year’s event, and he learned about the rising number of women in politics.

Qatar’s human rights record has been severely criticized, with women and homosexual persons facing discrimination.
