Dave Chappelle Announces All Proceeds From Show Will Go To Families Of Mass Shooting Victims

According to a spokesperson for Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Dave Chappelle has promised that all earnings from his show in Buffalo would be donated to the families of the Tops mass shooting victims.

On Sunday, Chappelle performed at Shea’s with the victims’ families in attendance.

On May 14, a mass shooting at Tops on Jefferson Avenue killed ten people and wounded three more. As Western New York mourns the loss of loved ones, 7 News would like to pay tribute to them.

On June 2, the suspect was arraigned on a 25-count indictment, and if proven guilty, he faces life in prison without the possibility of release.

Two families who have been affected by the shooting will testify before Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Garnell Whitfield, Jr., the son of Ruth Whitfield, one of the ten individuals murdered in the shooting, will speak before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday during a hearing titled “Examining the “Metastasizing” Domestic Terrorism Threat After the Buffalo Attack.”
