Darwin Nunez given red card for headbutting Joachim Andersen during Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Against Crystal Palace, the Uruguayan was sent 57 minutes into the game for a wild headbutt on defender Joachim Andersen.

At the moment, Wilfried Zaha’s first-half breakaway goal had given Liverpool a 1-0 disadvantage.

Nunez’s act of insanity appeared to have cost Liverpool the game, but Luis Diaz scored an incredible goal shortly after. But even with 10 players, Jurgen Klopp’s team was unable to win.

Nunez had a difficult time prior to being terminated since no matter what he tried, it didn’t work. Additionally, he lost out on other chances where he felt he might have performed better.

And while Klopp acknowledged that Nunez received a straight red card, the Liverpool manager said that Andersen was the cause of Nunez’s outburst.

“A little provocation here and there – and definitely the wrong reaction. A clear red card, I cannot deny that,” Klopp said.

“Andersen wanted that, I would say, and he got it. But he made a mistake, Darwin, so of course we will talk about it.”

And now, fresh video has surfaced showing just how Nunez was frustrated by the Palace defender throughout the game.
