Damon Dash Sued by Roc-A-Fella after NFT Auction of Jay-Z’s ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Album

Damon Dash is being sued by his own co-founding company, Roc-A-Fella, who believe that Dash is attempting to sell one of Jay-Z’s debut albums as an NFT.

The record label is turning the heat on Dash for trying to making money off of Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt album, where he planned on auctioning it off to the highest bidder in the NFT market. RAF claims that the company as a whole own the album, meaning that it’s not Dash’s to sell.

As reported by TMZ, court documents, filed by attorney Alex Spiro, reveal that the company are worried that Dash will use another NFT auction platform after the one he intended to use had been cancelled.

RAF believe that Dash is as quoted by the publication, “frantically scouting for another venue to make the sale”. The company now wants a court to block Damon from auctioning off the album as an NFT as well as handing in any profit he may have made from his actions so far.
