Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford before full-time in win over Tottenham

Before the end of Wednesday’s Premier League victory over Tottenham, Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford.

He sat on the bench and walked down the tunnel in the 89th minute of the 2-0 victory but was not used as a substitute.

Before leaving the stadium, it is believed that Ronaldo entered the locker room for a brief moment.

The problem would be “dealt with” on Thursday, according to manager Erik ten Hag’s comments following the game.

“I have seen him, but I haven’t spoken with him,” said Ten Hag.

Ronaldo came off the bench immediately after Ten Hag brought on Christian Eriksen and Anthony Elanga, after United had only used three of their five permitted substitutions.

Additionally, Ronaldo expressed his annoyance at being replaced during Sunday’s 0-0 home draw with Newcastle.

After the game, Ten Hag stated that he had “no problem” with Ronaldo’s response but that the player needed to persuade him that “he has to stay on.”

Gary Lineker, a former England striker, claimed that Ronaldo’s actions distracted from United’s strong showing against Spurs.

“That is unacceptable – it is so poor,” Lineker said on BBC Match of the Day.
