COVID-19 THREATENS THE SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW, AND DR. DRE MAY LOSE MILLIONS

Dr. Dre had enormous plans for this year’s Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which he hosted with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Mary J. Blige on February 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

However, the show appears to be hitting a snag, with the COVID Omicron variation causing havoc in L.A.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show may be canceled due to the reappearance of the COVID-19 virus, according to TMZ on Thursday (January 6). Dr. Dre stands to lose millions of dollars if the plug is pulled because he is footing the bill for the entire event.

According to TMZ, Dre has Event Cancellation Insurance to cover any catastrophe that would cause the event to be canceled, but COVID-related cancellation is not covered. COVID-19 is included on a clause known as the Communicable Disease Exemption, which means his losses will not be covered by his insurance policy.

With or without the halftime performance, Super Bowl LVI is likely to start on schedule. If the Omicron version jeopardizes the NFL’s preparations, the game might be moved to AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
