Converse has teamed up with The Pokémon Company to release a footwear and apparel line to celebrate the mega-popular video game, trading card, and anime empire’s 25th anniversary.
The Pokémon x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star “First Partners” is the collaboration’s highlight, featuring designs of famous characters Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Meowth, and Jigglypuff on a traditional black canvas upper. A Poké Ball and a custom license plate, as well as a lightning bolt design inspired by Pikachu’s Electric-type Moves, replace the standard Chuck patch and top eyelet on the asymmetrical pair.
The “Poké Ball” colorway follows, which has a white upper with monochrome images of the aforementioned cast. A Poké Ball is inserted within the shoe at the ankle collars on the lateral walls.
