Christian Eriksen will find out whether he will be able to resume his playing career next week when he is due to undergo tests at Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest during Denmark’s opening match at Euro 2020 against Finland on June 12 as he was rushed to a local hospital having collapsed on the pitch in Copenhagen.
As reported by Sky Sports, Eriksen has been fitted with a defibrillator (ICD) as doctors need to be sure if he can perform without it – if he continues his career in Serie A.
Even if the tests go according to plan, it is expected that the midfielder won’t be able to play for at least another six months, but he would meet up with his Inter teammates in early August.
Earlier in July, the first public picture of Eriksen emerged since leaving Rigshospitalet as he was smiling for the cameras with a young Danish fan.
