Chiefs fight back to beat Eagles in Super Bowl 57

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling 38-35 victory to win the NFL championship for the second time in four years.

The Chiefs, who were minor underdogs for Super Bowl 57, trailed for the majority of the game in Phoenix and were down 27-21 going into the fourth quarter.

However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and seasoned coach Andy Reid organized a route back in front of 67,827 spectators at State Farm Stadium despite Mahomes limping after worsening an ankle injury.

In order to put Kansas City in the lead for the first time, Mahomes, who was voted the season’s Most Valuable Player for the second time last week, completed touchdown passes to Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore.

Jalen Hurts’ record-breaking third running score and the third-year quarterback’s successful two-point conversion brought the Eagles to a tie.

But with only eight seconds left, Mahomes produced a valiant 26-yard run to set up Harrison Butker’s game-winning field goal attempt from 27 yards out.

With his performance, Mahomes, 27, became the first player since 1999 to win the Super Bowl, the season MVP, and the season MVP all in the same year.
