Change is the theme of a new Matrix Resurrections trailer

The latest teaser, titled “Déjà Vu,” begins with a voiceover from Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), who repeats a sentence from the previous film, explaining that “déjà vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.” This phrase is repeated multiple times. Like in the previous film, a black cat crosses Neo’s path, and we witness a series of screen wipes switching between younger and older versions of characters including as Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, Agent Smith, The Merovingian, and others.

We hear Jefferson Airplane’s White Rabbit playing in the background, much like in the first Matrix Resurrections video published in September. In case you missed it, the teaser shows the word CHANGE while playing a voice over that asks, “Why use old code to make something new?” “maybe this isn’t the story we think it is” says another.

The Matrix Resurrections hits theaters on December 22nd.
